Dushanbe and Riyadh intend to set up Joint Direct Investment Fund and Business Council

BAKU(Ali Mustafayev):Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia intend to create a joint fund of direct investment and business council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan said in press statement.

The intention to create the relevant structures was announced at the second meeting of the Tajik-Saudi intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation, held in Riyadh.

According to the press statement,”The sides stressed the need to make wide use of the enormous potential existing between the two countries, with further creation of a joint fund of direct investments and a business council.”

The corresponding protocol was signed on a basis of the joint commission’s work.

Previously, investors of the two countries participated in two representative business forums, held in Riyadh and Jeddah on April 2 and 3.


Azerbaijan to suppress Armenia’s possible provocations on presidential election

BAKU:Armenia’s possible provocations on the eve of the presidential election in Azerbaijan will be severely suppressed, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov said

Hasanov made the remarks at a meeting of the ministerial leadership in Baku April 7, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a message.

Uzbek President visits Tashkent City complex

BAKU(Ali Mustafayev):President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of Tashkent City complex.

The head of state got acquainted with the construction process of a five-star hotel and a congress hall, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said in a message.


Mirziyoyev gave relevant instructions to the managers of the projects for the high-quality construction of the facilities in accordance with modern requirements, providing broad conditions for major international events, pointed out to take into account geological, seismological and climatic factors.

The modern complex, built on an area of ​​80 hectares between the streets of Navoi, Olmazor, Islam Karimov and Furkat, will include business centers, shopping centers, hotels, offices, congress hall, exhibition halls, modern apartment buildings, restaurants, artificial lake, fountains, etc.

25th anniversary of Tajik Armed Forces’ creation celebrated in Azerbaijan

BAKU:Bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan is at a high level, Colonel Ruslan Mammadov, deputy chief of the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev, said Feb. 24 at an event in Baku dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Tajik Armed Forces, according to media.

Mammadov congratulated the people of Tajikistan on the anniversary and noted that friendship and brotherly relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan have long history.

“Presently, the friendly relations between our peoples are also at a high level,” he said. “The foundation of relations between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan was laid in 1992. As a result of the policy pursued by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the two countries established relations of cooperation, and this cooperation is developing under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries is also at a high level. The Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev plays a role in strengthening of the Tajik army. The Tajik cadets who study at this school will contribute to the development of the Tajik army in the future.”

Tajik Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rustam Soli said that 40 Tajik citizens graduated from the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev.

“Presently, 15 cadets are enrolled, and the quota for the number of cadets will be increased,” the ambassador noted. “The decision has already been made, and the technical settlement of this issue is underway. Tajik cadets should appreciate this brotherly concern of the Azerbaijani people, the president of Azerbaijan. We are in a fraternal country, therefore, we should treat traditions and laws of this country with great respect. This fraternal country has given Tajik cadets a unique opportunity for free education.”

Major-General Anvar Efendiyev, head of the combat readiness department of Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry, congratulated the people of Tajikistan in his speech, noting that the day of the army’s creation is a holiday in every country.
