DUSHANBE(Tajikistan):To expand business, Somon Air has opened its official representative office in Istanbul, Turkey. “The idea of opening a representative office was the result of a long period of time working with Turkey with the aim of abandoning remote cooperation, eliminating various intermediate procedures and optimizing the business process,” stated Somon Air, CEO, Thomas W. Hallam II.
The representative office will support and protect the interests of the airline at the airport, facilitating interaction with the airport, traffic agencies and other airlines. Somon Air will cooperate with local executive authorities and other organizations to organize, carry out flights and ensure their regularity while adhering to established rules and regulations regulating aviation activity and level of service. In addition, the office will oversee airline ticket sales. The activities of the representative office are regulated by the company’s general constituent documents.
Somon Air operates flights on the Dushanbe-Istanbul-Dushanbe route twice a week – on Tuesdays and Fridays. In June of this year, the airline plans to open a third frequency per week on this route.
Currently Somon Air, an IATA member since 2017, successfully operates flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, China, Russia and Kazakhstan.
